Summer Hygge

It is finally feeling like summer. As I plant more seeds and thin out the rouge dill/fennel/borage/mustard/cilantro I am adding some minutes of self care and hygge to today’s gardening. I’m hygging in the shade with some coffee cake, coffee, beach playlist, and flowers thinned from the garden.

I enjoyed my winter holiday hygge challenge and have been tying to make my breaks a little more special.

Morning Hygge – Dairy-free Coffee

I’m starting my morning with a hygge moment. I added some Penzys Hot Chocolate to my coffee this morning.

One of my goals for 2018 was to start drinking coffee black. I accomplished this pretty early in the year and it wasn’t too hard for me. I still get a nondairy latte sometimes when I go out for coffee, but at home I always have black coffee.

Sometimes to use less you need to have more.

I’ve been working really hard at remembering to bring my own cup when I go to Starbucks.

We have a big cabinet at home full of reusable tumblers and insulated mugs.  When I leave in the morning I make sure I have a empty reusable and one full of water.

More and more public spaces have water bottle fillers available. Yay! Since I am still trying to “Drink more water”! And many coffee places will give you a small discount for bringing in your own cup.

I know, as an organizer am I not suppose to want you to own less stuff?  Yes, but this is one of those cases where I say “Buy a reusable mug (or two) that you really like” and wash it at home.  I really like this life factory insulated mug and the other is a cup we bought at Five Below.

Enjoy! -SB
